T he Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER), previously known as Sri Ramachandra University, is a distinguished Deemed University located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It was established in the year 1985 as part of the Sri Ramachandra Educational & Health Trust under the leadership of Shri N.P.V. Ramasamy Udayar. Since its inception, the institute has grown to the status of a “Deemed to be University” in September 1994 under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
